Routes
Five routes
Starting points, not packages
Begin with a route, then change it
These are the journeys people ask for most. Lengths are a guide; we add rest days, swap regions and time things to festivals.
-
10–12 days
The coast and the court
The classic first journey: Accra, the castles of Cape Coast and Elmina with an afternoon left free, Kakum at first light, and Kumasi timed to Akwasidae if the calendar allows.
-
16–18 days
The whole board
South to north in one journey: Accra, the Volta highlands, Kumasi, walking with elephants at Mole, Tamale, and the painted houses of Sirigu, then a flight back to Accra.
-
12–14 days
The heritage path
A historian-led journey along the route of the trade, from the coast inland: Assin Manso, Cape Coast and Elmina, Kumasi, Salaga, Pikworo and Gwollu, with rest days between.
-
6–7 days
Accra and the Volta
A short first taste, or a week added to a family visit: Accra's galleries and food, Krobo beads, a day on Lake Volta, and the falls and hills of the highlands.
-
7–9 days
The western shore
The quiet coast, slowly: Cape Coast, Busua's bay, the forts at Axim, the stilt village of Nzulezu, Ankasa's forest, and back to Accra.
